Production of dextran and dextran derivatives​

Company History

​1964:

​Pharmacia Denmark’s new plant is fully functional to produce Pharmacia’s active products.

​1981:

​The production of DEAE-Dextran and Dextran Sulphate begins.

​1991:

​The plant changes name to Pharmacia Køge Chemicals.

​1997:

Pharmacia Køge Chemicals is transferred to Amersham Pharmacia Biotech with its head office in Uppsala, Sweden.​

​1998:

Pharmacia Køge Chemicals changes name to pK Chemicals – PKC.​

​2000:

​Private investors buy PKC from Amersham Pharmacia Biotech.

​2003:

​PKC acquires the product rights for DEAE-Dextran and Dextran Sulphate / Dextran Sulfate from Amersham Biosciences.

2005:

PKC acquires CM-Dextran from GE Healthcare Protein Separations.

2010:

PKC acquires the facilities in Hårlev and starts installation of equipment for dextran production

 

2013:

​Establishment of novel ownership and management
